New tour packages for 2026 combine sporting events with destination sightseeing

Just Go! Holidays has unveiled its first-ever overseas sporting event itineraries, offering cricket fans the chance to witness England’s eagerly awaited tour of Sri Lanka (pictured) in early 2026.

The new packages feature:

  • England Tour of Sri Lanka – 3 ODIs, priced from £2,799pp per person. This 16-day trip departs on January 11 from Gatwick, Heathrow or Manchester and includes all-inclusive accommodation at the Tangerine Beach Hotel in Kalutara, along with tickets to three one-day internationals at R. Premadasa Stadium.
  • England Tour of Sri Lanka – 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is, starting at £4,399pp. Over 30 days, departing on January 11 from Birmingham, Gatwick, Heathrow or Manchester, travellers enjoy the all-inclusive Kalutara stay plus two nights each in Kandy and Dambulla (half board), and tickets to five matches: three ODIs and two T20Is.

Both journeys also include overseas transfers and excursions visiting Kalutara Fish Market, Kalutara Temple, the Home and Garden of Bevis Bawa, and a full-day southern Sri Lanka exploration.

The launch comes as sports tourism continues to grow due to major global events, expanding fan engagement, and destination strategies that leverage the portability of sports, turning matches and tournaments into tourism magnets

Sports tourism now accounts for roughly 10% of global tourism spending and is valued at more than £500 billion, with projections suggesting a quadrupling to £2.25 trillion by 2033, according to National Geographic.

Claire Dutton, Trade Sales Manager offers her selling tips: “Cricket fans are often fanatical about the game. If you have a local cricket club in your area, it is worth approaching them to see if you can promote a group trip to their members. You’d be surprised how often individuals can be tempted by the opportunity to travel with their fellow enthusiasts and friends.”

“It is worth getting to know your clients interests and hobbies so you can ensure you offer them the best possible holiday choices. If a client is looking for a holiday and is a sports lover, then a trip combining the two may well help clinch the sale.”

“Increasingly we are seeing guests wanting to combine a holiday with an event, whether that be a theatre break, festival, or in this case a sporting event. This allows them to combine a well-earned rest with their hobby or passion. We have already seen strong interest for our sports related trips elsewhere and early interest in our Sri Lanka cricket tour suggests this trip is going to sell out quickly.”
