Journey Angels launches with focus on accessible travel

The business will meet the needs of a growing cohort of travellers that are not digitally native

Journey Angels, an assisted travel service, is launching in the UK this month.

Digital-first barriers to travel include mobile boarding passes, check-in, baggage management, seat booking, e-passports and cashless transactions.

Journey Angels provides bespoke, end-to-end assistance for those who need physical or emotional support while travelling.

Trained companions offer to help with processes from in-destination logistics to itinerary management. They undergo DBS checks and are fully matched to clients based on individual needs and preferences.

Tailored travel plans are created through detailed consultations via telephone or video call. Clients also meet their companion to build rapport prior to travel.

Journey Angels is targeting OTAs, independent travel consultants, high street agencies, booking portals and aggregators.

Janine Park, Founding Director at Journey Angels, said: “The idea came when my friend Pam, in her late 70s, lost confidence travelling alone. I accompanied her to visit friends in France and it completely transformed her experience – it gave her the confidence to continue doing what she has always loved.

“Many people feel left behind by the rapid digitalisation of travel in recent years. We will give travel agents, OTAs and operators a new way to better support all their customers.”
