The Islands of Guernsey have announced the launch of The Big Eat Guernsey, a new food festival which will run in April and October, designed to celebrate the Bailiwick’s growing culinary reputation.
The month-long celebration will begin with the arrival of the Breton Market over the Easter weekend, from Friday April 3 to Monday April 6, setting the tone for a programme that spans Guernsey and its sister islands.
Visitors can expect a wide-ranging exploration of local gastronomy, highlighting both traditional flavours and contemporary dining.
Local restaurants and cafés will take part by offering exclusive festival set menus, showcasing Guernsey’s produce, particularly its dairy and seafood.
Alongside dining, a series of immersive experiences will link food with the islands’ landscapes and cultural heritage, with local producers, chefs and businesses hosting bespoke activities for visitors.

More than 40 food-led events and menus have already been confirmed, with further announcements expected. Highlights include the Guernsey Grande Fromage Tour across multiple venues in St Peter Port, foraging and fine dining experiences, cycle and safari tours visiting Guernsey’s hedge veg stalls and honesty boxes, farm-to-table dinners, and opportunities to meet both local and visiting chefs and producers.
The festival’s launch follows the recent inclusion of three Guernsey restaurants — Vraic, Alba and Fukku — in the 2025 Michelin Guide, which underlines the island’s rising culinary profile.
Zoe Gosling, Lead Marketing Officer at VisitGuernsey, said food and drink play an increasingly important role in travel decisions.
“More travellers than ever are seeking food experiences that connect them to the destinations they are visiting,” she said.
“By drawing on the experience of the local culinary industry, we’re pleased to offer an authentic experience to those visiting the Islands.”
