To coincide with the ‘year of long getaways’, Discover Egypt is launching a new 14-night cruise

Discover Egypt’s new 14-night Ultimate Nile Cruise is embracing this year’s top trend.

According to Skift’s 2025 Travel Outlook report, longer stays are set to dominate travel this year, with travel companies anticipating a 24% increase in trip plans compared to 2024. Globally, long leisure trips are now the most sought-after type of travel, ahead of quick weekend getaways and road trips.

Guests will voyage on the renovated M/S Tulip, sailing the length of the Nile from Cairo to Aswan visiting Egypt’s classical and ancient sights. Travellers will explore Egypt’s most celebrated ancient landmarks, including:

  • The Pyramids of Giza & Sphinx
  • The Grand Egyptian Museum
  • Beni Hassan Tombs and Ashmunein
  • Tel El Amarna
  • Abydos Temple and Denderah Temple
  • Valley of the Kings, Luxor, and Karnak Temples
  • Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples
  • Aswan High Dam, Obelisk, and Philae Temple

Priced from £4,395pp for a September 5, 2025 departure and includes flights from Heathrow or Manchester to Cairo, transfers, full-board 14-night cruise and excursions with a qualified Egyptologist.

Following the cruise travellers can opt to add extra nights in Aswan and visiting Abu Simbel by air or coach from £499pp,  before travelling home.

Reasons to visit Egypt in 2025 include the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in Cairo, enhanced sound and light shows at the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx, plus new interactive displays and visitor centres at Abu Simbel, designed help visitors understand the history and significance of the temples.
