Cox and Kings has revealed its must-visit destinations for 2026, places that blend immersive cultural encounters, regions beyond the standard routes and extraordinary outdoor experiences.
The list of 10 destinations includes: India, Kyrgyzstan, Namibia, Egypt and Jordan, Umbria, Canada, Peru and Galapagos, Vietnam, The Caucasus and Japan.
The operator’s latest booking data reflects the trend for more immersive travel: Africa and Central Asia are now the company’s fastest-growing regions, with year-on-year growth of 48% and 34% respectively between 2024 and 2025.
Namibia and Kyrgyzstan capture the appetite for exploration – from Namibia’s desert dunes, unique wildlife and dramatic coastline to Kyrgyzstan’s mountain vistas, nomadic traditions and rich Silk Road heritage.
A 15-day small group tour Namibia: Untouched Wilderness is priced from £5,145pp based on two people sharing, including all flights, guiding, sightseeing, transfers and accommodation on a B&B basis.
Wildlife and nature are growing as key priorities for many travellers, reflecting a broader desire for travel that fosters a deeper connection with the environment.
The Galápagos Islands offer a once-in-a-lifetime destination where nature is raw, unique and diverse, bringing visitors face-to-face with wildlife found nowhere else on Earth.
Similarly, Cox and Kings set to launch a new collection of tailormade Canada itineraries in January 2026.
Vietnam boasts bustling cities and serene river journeys, historic sites and a vibrant culinary scene that reflects the nation’s diversity. Cox and Kings’ Vietnam itineraries have been refreshed for 2026 and reveal both iconic sights and hidden corners, ensuring an immersive experience of this dynamic destination.
Travellers are now looking to maximise their time and experience on holiday, opting for multi-country itineraries that include different destinations, cultures and activities in a single trip.
Italy and India remain two of Cox and Kings’ most popular destinations. However, for 2026 it’s the lesser explored regions that stand out, places where travellers can find quiet corners away from the crowds.
Umbria is an ideal alternative to Italy’s busier regions. An eight-day small group tour, Umbria: Undiscovered Heart of Italy, costs from £2,245pp based on two people sharing, including flights, guiding, sightseeing, transfers and accommodation on a B&B basis.
Similarly, India’s Madhya Pradesh provides a window into the country’s rural heartland and some of its most remarkable wildlife. Known as the “Tiger State of India” it’s home to a growing population of Bengal tigers that has doubled since 2010 and national parks that feel far removed from the tourist trail.
A 13-day small group journey, Journey Through the Himalayan Foothills is priced from £2,795pp based on two people sharing, including flights, guiding, sightseeing, private transfers and accommodation on a B&B basis with three nights at the Oberoi Cecil, Shimla.
Jennifer Charlton, Managing Director Cox and Kings, said: “Today’s culturally curious traveller wants to go beyond the highlights, to explore quieter corners, connect with local traditions and enjoy the opportunity to really experience a destination.
“As we expand our portfolio for 2026, our focus remains on delivering travel that inspires discovery while staying true to our heritage of thoughtful, expert-led exploration.”
