Visit USA webinars help agents become specialists

Sonoma, Tennessee, Alaska Air and Virginia will be updating agents in the coming weeks

Visit USA’s series of popular trade webinars continues in September and October.

The weekly 30-minute online presentations, which run most Tuesdays at 14.00, update agents on key selling points, tips and news to enhance their destination knowledge.

They each feature a Visit USA member, namely a state, region, attraction, transport operator, accommodation provider or tour operator.

First up, on September 22, is Sonoma County Tourism, which will be putting across its message: that it might well be one of the USA’s premier wine regions, with over 400 wineries, but it also offers so much more.

The Northern California destination can also point to more than 50 miles of rugged coastline, towering redwoods, a thriving farm-to-table food scene and endless outdoor adventures along the Russian River.

Next up, on September 29, Tennessee will be engaging agents with tales of music, history and natural beauty. Visitors to the “Volunteer State” can also experience charming towns, Memphis blues, Nashville’s live music on Honky Tonk Row, the Great Smoky Mountains and Civil Rights landmarks. There are also iconic distilleries, scenic drives, waterfalls and hiking trails.

Dollywood, which is set to be more popular than ever following Dolly Parton’s passing, is the 165-acre theme park she founded in Pigeon Forge, near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Alaska Air, whose daily non-stop service from Heathrow to Seattle opens the door to more than 100 destinations across North America, including the Pacific Northwest, California, Hawaii and Alaska, will update agents on October 6, while Virginia, a Mid-Atlantic state that is a natural starting point for a USA holiday or wider East Coast itinerary, will present on October 13.

The state can also offer opportunities to explore early American history in Jamestown, Williamsburg, Yorktown and sites that include Monticello and Mount Vernon,  Civil War battlefields, wineries, the Blue Ridge Mountains, historic towns and coastal getaways.

Visit USA’s webinars have proved increasingly popular with agents since they were launched in 2025, says Kate Kenward, Visit USA CEO.

“A lot of the same agents are tuning in on a weekly or very regular basis, and we are delighted to see that they are finding them so helpful.”

Other Visit USA members to feature on Visit USA’s webinar programme include Oklahoma City and Chickasaw Country, Amtrak Vacations, Fort Myers (Florida), Kentucky, Flagstaff (Arizona), Hawai’i, Park City (Utah), St. Louis (Missouri), Fort Lauderdale (Florida), Nevada, Portland (Oregon), Rocky Mountaineer’s Canyon Spirit, JetBlue, St. Pete-Clearwater (Florida), Greater Palm Springs (California), New York City and Missouri,

These and other previous webinars can be found in a ‘library’, which anyone can access on Visit USA’s website.
