Moxy Banff: For the personality
Full of personality and fun, the Moxy Banff opened in April this year on Banff Avenue. The property, which was formally The Voyager Inn, the town’s first commercial motor hotel, has 109 rooms, a fitness centre and several social spaces including a year-round heated courtyard with two hot tubs. Guests check in at the ski-bar themed Bar Moxy and are offered a complimentary cocktail. For guests looking to hit the slopes or trails, a 24/7 ski, board and bike locker room is available for self-storage and repairs. Basecamp Suites Hotel: For the convenience
Perfect for groups that want to be self-sufficient, Basecamp Suites Hotel offers 21 apartment-style suites ranging from a one-bedroom suite with a queen bed and a pullout sofa to a three-bedroom suite that can sleep eight to 10 guests. Each suite has a fully equipped kitchen as well as access to two rooftop hotubs which overlook the surrounding mountains. The location in downtown Banff allows guests convenient access to shopping, restaurants and walking trails. For winter enthusiasts, the SkiBig3 shuttle is a 3-minute walk from the property and there’s also an airport shuttle bus.
Skyridge Glamping: For adult-only luxury
For something totally unique, Skyridge Glamping offers luxury pods in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, complete with walk-in shower, kitchen and plush king-size bed. Guests can take in mountain views from their private accommodation or unwind and rejuvenate at Kananaskis Nordic Spa, which features hot and cold pools, saunas, and steam rooms amidst the stunning mountain scenery. Beyond the resort guests can go hiking or biking using the resort’s mountain bikes, go horseback riding or enjoy a game of golf at the Mt. Kidd Course and Mount Lorette Course. Mount Engadine Lodge: For a get-away-from-it-all break
Situated one hour from Canmore, in the Kananaskis Range of the Spray Valley Provincial Park, Mount Engadine Lodge is a backcountry retreat offering guests an authentic Canadian Rocky Mountain experience. Guests have the option to stay in suites located in the main lodge, private cabins, or glamping tents. For those looking for a little extra adventure, a yurt is also available upon request. Spring, summer, and fall activities include hiking, trail running, mountain biking, canoeing, and fishing. Throughout the winter months, guests can snowshoe, cross-country ski, ice fish, and dog sled.
