Two of Alberta’s most iconic mountain hotels are undergoing significant transformations.
The Rimrock Resort Hotel, located on the slopes of Sulphur Mountain overlooking Banff, will undergo a full transformation, with plans to reopen in summer 2026 as Rimrock Banff, Emblems Collection.
According to the hotel, the transformation will include a comprehensive refresh of guest rooms and communal spaces, alongside new culinary concepts and enhanced wellness experiences. The redevelopment aims to elevate the guest experience through contemporary design inspired by the surrounding Rocky Mountains.
Further details on the new offerings will be released closer to reopening.
Meanwhile, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge has also announced a major renovation programme set to be unveiled later this year.
The planned enhancements include updates to guest rooms, dining venues and public spaces, with a focus on modernising the property while maintaining its distinctive alpine lodge character.
During the renovation period, some guest services have been temporarily relocated, including the Front Desk and Concierge, which will operate from the Golf Clubhouse. Key amenities such as the spa and dining areas will remain accessible, and a complimentary shuttle service will be available to support guest movement around the property.
Garrett Turta, General Manager, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, said: “These changes are inspired by a deep respect for our heritage, with every refreshed guest room, new culinary venue, and reimagined gathering space thoughtfully crafted to elevate your experience both now and in the years ahead.”
