I LOVE NY – New York State’s Division of Tourism, is the Headline sponsor for this year’s Travel For Every Body Awards.
The U.S. state has long been a pioneer in accessible tourism, making it a core part of the visitor experience.
The Accessible NY Hub provides detailed, searchable information covering mobility, visual, hearing and cognitive accessibility needs giving visitors the confidence to plan before arrival.
Ongoing consultation with disability and advisory groups means the state’s interactive Accessible Recreation Destinations Map now highlights over 260 accessible locations.
The NYS Parks system, which welcomes more than 84 million visitors annually, has invested over $5million in accessible trails, beaches, kayak launches, adaptive equipment and assistive technologies.

The award-winning Autism Nature Trail, the first of its kind in the U.S., offers a sensory experience designed specifically for visitors on the autism spectrum. Adaptive skiing and snowboarding, and accessible cultural programming at theatres and museums show a comprehensive approach.
Ross D Levi, Executive Director/Vice President of I LOVE NY, commented: “Through our pioneering Accessible New York programme, I LOVE NY promotes attractions and activities across New York State for travellers with accessibility needs – from a premier, one-of-a-kind collection of art by deaf artists at the Dyer Arts Center in the Finger Lakes to adaptive kayaking on the Erie Canal to the nation’s first Autism Nature Trail at Letchworth State Park in the Greater Niagara region.
“Last year, I was privileged to attend the inaugural Travel For Every Body Awards, which showcased the inspiring work being done globally. These awards are closely aligned with our programme’s values and goals, and we could not be prouder to provide our support.”
Entries have now closed for this year’s awards and judging will begin later this month (August).
