The Asimina Suites Hotel is a 139-suite property approximately two miles east of Paphos’s castle and harbour. It is an adults-only destination hotel and a waterfront footpath makes it possible to stroll to the harbour in about 40 minutes.
Work was undertaken over the winter of 2025-26 to add a fifth floor to the hotel, boosting the number of suites available by 30. It also introduced a rooftop bar from where the area’s celebrated sunsets can be appreciated.
It is one of four Constantinou Bros Hotels in Paphos. The group includes the neighbouring Athena Beach Hotel, the Athena Royal Beach Hotel and the Pioneer Beach Hotel.
First impressions
The hotel is less than a 20-minute drive from Pafos International Airport and transfers are available. Local buses also stop near the beachfront property, providing travellers with that option, should they prefer it.
Having arrived in Cyprus a couple of days before checking into the Asmina Suites Hotel, I took a local bus from the centre of the Old Town to a stop a couple of minutes’ walk away.
I stepped into the lobby a couple of hours before the official check-in opened, hoping to drop my bag before exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site by the harbour. However, the staff said that my room was already available and it would not be a problem to check in early.
That was very welcome and made a highly positive first impression. It felt like they did that little bit extra to brighten my day.
The check-in
I was ushered through to an air-conditioned lounge overlooking the pool and offered a refreshing towel and a welcome drink. As I glanced over the form holding my details, I was informed that the VIP check-in experience is offered to all guests arriving at the Asimina Suites Hotel.
After the formalities were quickly completed, I was escorted to my suite on the hotel’s third floor.
The suite
My suite was light and ideal for a few days away in a destination popular for sunshine breaks. Arriving on a hot, sunny day, I was grateful that my room was pleasantly cool.
The suite featured a relaxation area with a sofa and an armchair arranged around a coffee table. With reading lamps and a television opposite, it was a lovely spot to sit and read.
Facilities to make coffee and tea were provided in the room, and there was also a fridge. That was stocked with drinks, though I didn’t make use of the mini-bar.
There was a desk that I worked at for a couple of hours each morning, taking advantage of the quick and reliable internet connection to access data.
The bedroom had a comfortable king-size bed with bedside tables with reading lamps and charging points. It opened onto a balcony with views over the pool and garden.
The vast bathroom featured both a walk-in shower and a bathtub.
The facilities
The hotel has a beautifully maintained garden with a freeform swimming pool that leads down to a sandy stretch of beach.
I dipped into the hotel pool for pre-breakfast swims and participated in an afternoon aqua-aerobic session. On one of the mornings of my stay, I also took part in a pilates session in the beachfront gazebo.
The buffet breakfast offered at Asimina Suites Hotel is lavish, encompassing Cypriot delicacies as well as a range of Continental and cooked items. Along with freshly pressed juice and Cypriot coffee, I enjoyed sampling fruits, meats, dips and cheeses on the terrace overlooking the pool.
Panagiotou Panagiotis, the hotel chef, led a cooking demonstration before serving the salt-baked fish that was prepared in the beachfront Kymata restaurant.
One afternoon, I popped up to the rooftop of the neighbouring hotel to participate in an art and wine experience. That involved getting creative with acrylic paints while sipping wines from the island.
Participating in traditional Cypriot dancing during dinner on my final night at the hotel was an enjoyable way to end a relaxing few days away.
The verdict
The hotel made a resoundingly positive impression, thanks to the comfort of my room, the warmth of the staff members and the quality of the food.
I felt that the range of activities available on-site and at neighbouring Constantinou Brothers Hotels meant there was plenty to do during my stay. It was also well-placed for exploring Paphos and the surrounding region.
I particularly enjoyed that the property’s beachfront location meant that I could open the sliding door to the balcony and fall asleep to the relaxing sound of the Mediterranean Sea lapping the shore. It was a lovely place to stay.
