Adventures By Train has unveiled a 12-day escorted journey from London to Algeria that is timed around the total solar eclipse on August 2, 2027.
The flight-free itinerary includes rail travel through France with an overnight Mediterranean ferry crossing before exploring Algeria by train and private transfer.
Travellers will journey from London to Marseille by Eurostar Plus and high-speed TGV, before crossing to North Africa by overnight ferry in a private en-suite cabin.
The itinerary is limited to 12 guests and includes three five-star hotels, with a focus on slow travel and cultural discovery.
In Algeria, the itinerary explores the capital city of Algiers with expert local guides, including the UNESCO-listed Casbah, grand colonial boulevards, the Fine Arts Museum and Botanical Gardens, alongside the Roman ruins of Tipasa.

The journey then continues west by first-class train to Oran, with a visit to the historic city of Tlemcen, which reflects Arab, Ottoman, Spanish and French influences.
The highlight comes on August 2, 2027, when clients can watch the total solar eclipse from a panoramic viewpoint above Oran. Local astronomy experts will provide support, alongside specialist equipment for observing the event.
The eclipse will pass directly over western Algeria, offering more than five minutes of totality, which is one of the longest durations available anywhere on Earth.
Departing London on July 23, 2027, the 12-day trip costs from £4,950pp, based on two sharing. The price includes accommodation, selected meals, first-class rail travel, private transfers and expert local guiding. A single room supplement of £995pp applies.
