Travellers in Scotland have an additional option for visiting Malta after easyJet started its new direct service from Glasgow.
The route, which launched on August 4 and operates every Tuesday and Friday, provides Scottish travellers with convenient, direct access to the Mediterranean island year-round sunshine, rich history and vibrant culture.
Attractions in Malta and its sister islands, Gozo and Comino, include thousands of years of history from prehistoric temples and medieval cities, UNESCO heritage sites, a rich history, world-class dive sites, Michelin-starred restaurants and beaches.
Malta is also known for its iconic film locations, with box-office hits filmed there including Gladiator and Jurassic World.
Ryanair and Jet2 also operate direct flights on the Glasgow – Malta route.

Return fares start from £70, and visitors can also book a package deal via easyJet holidays, with prices starting from £239pp, depending on dates and availability.
For example, a three-night B7B break at the four-star Santana Hotel, in the popular seaside resort of Qawra on Malta’s north-east coast, starts from £239pp, including flights from Glasgow and return airport transfers. Travel dates are November 6-9, 2026. The hotel features a rooftop pool, restaurant, café and poolside bar, with the nearest beach less than half a kilometre away.
