Sun shines on Summer Affair

VisitUSA logotest

Visit USA kicked off the summer with a sun-blessed event at London’s prestigious Hurlingham Club.

The Association’s annual Summer Affair, which this year was attended by 353 trade, industry and media partners, is the organisation’s annual flagship occasion.

Key supporters were World Travel Market, sponsors of the drinks reception; Travel Texas, sponsors of the evening’s entertainment and who brought over singer Scott Strickland from the Lone Star State; Travel Nevada, sponsors of the photobooth; and Visit Orlando, who provided the table favour sunglasses.

World Travel Market’s nominated charity ‘Just a Drop’, which brings sustainable safe water, sanitation and hygiene projects to communities in developing countries, benefitted from £9,600 raised on the evening through a raffle and auction.

“Our Summer Affair is an excellent example of networking with over 350 of the UKs top USA connected trade and media attending,” said Visit USA’s CEO, Kate Kenward.

She added: “In this rapid-paced, ever-evolving travel and business landscape, the strength and unity of our Visit USA UK community has never been more crucial. Visit USA UK stands as a beacon of support, expertise, and advocacy, ensuring that each member thrives in this competitive and dynamic industry.

“The value of networking cannot be overstated in an industry built on relationships, and those relationships often lead to collaborative ventures, strategic alliances, and business expansions, further strengthening the bonds within our community”.

Current UK visitor numbers are nearing 2019 (pre-pandemic levels) and are expected to exceed them in 2025, a result that underlines the enduring appeal of the U.S.

“The resilience of this destination is incredible,” added Kenward.

On Visit USA’s calendar for later in the year is its annual Agents Roadshow in October (Birmingham 9th and Southampton 10th).

The Association is also hosting a members-only Thanksgiving event on November 27 at Joe Allen, 2 Burleigh St, London WC2E 7PX.
