St. John’s ready to fly in UK and Ireland

Destination St. John’s has partnered with LC Marketing Plus Ltd to expand its presence and awareness among the UK and Irish travel trades.

The Newfoundland destination, now served by seasonal direct flights from London Gatwick, is known for its colourful row houses while above the city is Signal Hill is the start of scenic walking trails and was the site of the first transatlantic wireless communication, Cabot Tower, which commemorates John Cabot’s discovery of Newfoundland.

“The return of WestJet’s direct flights between St. John’s and both London Gatwick and Dublin represents a significant opportunity for our destination to strengthen its presence in the UK and Ireland Travel Trade Market,” said Paul Bugge, CEO of Destination St. John’s.

This initiative aligns with our broader commitment to supporting sustainable air access and growing our tourism sector in a meaningful way.” 

Fronted by Della Tully and Lisa Chamberlain, LC Marketing Plus Ltd – which also works closely with the UK trade promoting Yukon – will provide sales and marketing services, working closely with key travel agents, tour operators and industry stakeholders to position St. John’s as a must-visit destination for those heading to Canada’s east coast.

The agency will focus on developing targeted training programs, market intelligence reporting, and strategic promotions to enhance Newfoundland and Labrador’s presence in UK and Irish travel itineraries.
