Boston has supplemented its line-up of attractions this winter by adding a brand-new festival.

The Boston Frostival, which runs through to the end of February 2026, expanding Boston’s winter events beyond the holiday season, features drone shows, ice-skating rinks, a ski Lodge at Copley Square, art fairs, wine festivals, an illuminated Ferris wheel, and attractions aimed squarely at children.

Running from November 29-December 20, holiday-themed drone shows will light up Boston Common every Saturday during two shows that start at 18.00 and 20.00.

The Ferris wheel will be in place on the Rose Kennedy Greenway from February 2-28, offering panoramic city views of the waterfront and beyond, while an “immersive lodge” will welcome visitors to downtown Copley Square between February 6-28.

Also part of Boston Frostival, Femme Fête is a wine and beverage fair comprised entirely of women makers from around the world who prioritise responsible farming methods, execute fair labour practices and adhere to natural and sustainable winemaking procedure. It will be staged at the Boston Centre for the Arts at Cyclorama on February 28.

Other seasonal experiences that the city is known for include ice skating at Frog Pond, the Boston Common tree lighting, Holiday Pop concerts and more.

“Winter in Boston has always been magical, and now we have more programming to entice visitors to come see for themselves,” said Martha J. Sheridan, President & CEO of Meet Boston.

“Boston Frostival represents our commitment to redefining the city’s winter appeal – not just during the holidays, but throughout the entire season.”

Other seasonal Boston events include Snowport, an annual winter attraction in the Seaport district that runs until December 28 featuring a large outdoor pop-up market with over 125 vendors, a food and beverage hall, mugs of hot cocoa, live music and various attractions like iceless curling.

First Night Boston is the city’s New Year’s Eve bash, when thousands gather at City Hall, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, and other city locations for a celebration of “artistic performances, the wonders of the season and the beginning of a new year”.

And for those in Boston from February 22 – March 7, 2026, Dine Out Boston is a Meet Boston initiative, in partnership with several restaurants, that offers visitors the opportunity to eat out for prix fixe menus: lunch options range from $27, $32, and $36 and dinner options range from $38, $46, and $55.

Long known for distinguished and unparalleled farm-to-table and sea-to-table cuisine, the city has joined the Michelin Guide Northeast Cities Edition, which covers Philadelphia, New York, Washington DC, Chicago and now Boston.
