Singapore Airlines has boosted its service between London Gatwick and Singapore to a daily flight.
The increase in capacity, from a five-weekly operation, was made just 10 months after the airliner launched the service.
Flyers with Singapore also have a gateway to Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand via transfers at Singapore’s Changi International Airport.
The 06:20am arrival time in the Garden City allows time for onward transfer and connections to over 127 destinations in 36 countries worldwide through the airline’s network. This includes the connecting service from London Gatwick to Sydney in just 21 hours and 30 minutes, making it one of the quickest services to reach the other side of the world.
Mohamed Rafi Mar, Singapore Airlines General Manager UK & Ireland, said: “There’s no greater testament to the success of our London Gatwick service than the expansion of our schedule within its first year. We are excited to increase our service to a daily operation, offering customers enhanced access to the destinations they love.
“There has always been a strong connection between both countries – whether for business or leisure travel – and we’re delighted to help facilitate this even further. With 40 direct weekly services between the UK and Singapore, we offer more flights than any other carrier to the region. We look forward to building on this fantastic momentum with the London Gatwick team.”
The 13-hour flight to Singapore is operated with the long-haul variant of the Airline’s Airbus A350-900, a highly fuel-efficient and quiet aircraft. The 253-seat aircraft features three cabin classes, with 42 seats in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy Class and 187 in Economy Class.
Singapore Airlines also operates four daily flights from London Heathrow and five-times weekly flights from Manchester to Singapore.
