Visit USA’s new series of member webinars, designed to improve agents’ destination and product knowledge, kicks off on September 17.

Agents who join the first webinar will hear a presentation from Vamoos, a travel app that helps travellers arrange all their essential travel information in one place: their phone.

Taking place every Tuesday at 14.00, the free Visit USA Webinar Time sessions will also feature New York City attraction SUMMIT One Vanderbilt and U.S. destinations Alabama, Capitol Region USA, Travel Oregon and Florida’s Space Coast.

“We hope the travel trade will set aside half an hour each Tuesday and tune in to our talks,” says Kate Kenward, Visit USA UK’s CEO.

“It will take agents just 30 minutes to hear something new or top up their USA ‘knowledge bank’.  Apart from Visit USA members, we are hoping all areas of the travel industry will tune in. Reservations staff will obviously benefit, but sales, marketing, PRs and the media will also find them extremely useful.  Everyone is welcome,” she added.

Following Vamoos on September 24 is SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, the lofty observation deck that offers five multi-sensory installations that occupy the top three floors of Midtown Manhattan’s tallest skyscraper.

On October 1, Alabama Tourism will highlight the state’s Civil Rights attractions, its role in space exploration, and its rock and roll heritage (learn how world-famous musicians and bands put a recording studio in Muscle Shoals on the map).

On October 8, Capitol Region USA will update agents on the latest attractions and hotel openings in Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland, along with ideas and destinations beyond the nation’s capital. Those draw cards include wine regions, Civil War sites, mountain scenery, small towns, hiking and bike trails and much more.

Discover Oregon will be in the spotlight on October 15, showcasing natural wonders such as beaches, forests and river valleys, along with historic towns, fishing villages, ski resorts and wineries.

And on November 26, Florida’s Space Coast, with its 70 miles of beaches, will hit agents’ computers billing itself as “The only beaches that double as a launch pad”.

Beyond its family-friendly stretches of sand, rockets and lively downtown districts, the destination is a major cruise port and has a protected natural environment where visitors can take a guided tour of the Indian River Lagoon, kayak with manatees, fish with dolphins, experience summertime bioluminescence and see sea turtles.
