New visitor experiences are on offer at several hotels and inns in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Located in the USA’s southwest, Scottsdale is only a 20-minute car ride from gateway city Phoenix, which is served by daily British Airways flights from the UK.

A new restaurant, Tiki Taka, has opened at Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort, the last of six new culinary concepts, serving dishes with Japanese and Spanish influences, and using local ingredients from the Southwest. This is part of a $115 refurbishment which was completed at the end of last year.

A host of new special offers have been introduced by Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows, including “Chill and Grill” where guests use chef-prepared ingredients to create a feast in their bungalow.

There are also a “Girlfriend Escape” and “Discover Wellness” packages which include perks such as bubbly and brunch, or aromatherapy and resort credit.

Built by “cowboy artist” Lon Megargee in the 1930s, The Hermosa Inn is hosting two art programmes in Spring 2025. The “Mimosa & Monet” art class series provides visitors with Saturday morning classes led by artist-in residence Carrie Curran through May 3.

The Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale, which has a unique desert setting, is hosting a Winemaker Dinner Series on April 25. At the spa, new baby bobcats are discovered and rescued each spring, in partnership with the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center, after their mothers give birth in the spa grounds.

These stories have inspired a new service, the “Desert Zen Package,” which combines a Desert Zen Massage, Organic Signature Facial and a spa lunch followed by a Wildlife and Nature Tour, taking in birds and desert wildlife.

Visitors should check out Old Town Scottsdale, made up of nine distinct, walkable neighbourhoods, each with its own character. The Scottsdale Arts District is brimming with fine art galleries and cultural landmarks, while the Entertainment District offers up chic rooftop lounges and lively cocktail bars. The Scottsdale Waterfront is home to trendy cafés and upscale shops, while the Civic Center is best for lush green spaces and museums.

“Scottsdale offers a unique blend of desert beauty, luxury offerings, and rich cultural experiences that make it a must-visit destination,” said Laura McMurchie, VP of Communications at Experience Scottsdale.

“From our stunning desert landscapes and world-class resorts to vibrant arts districts and renowned golf courses, there’s something for everyone. Visitors can explore outdoor adventures such as hiking Camelback Mountain, immerse themselves in the local art scene and museums, or indulge in unique culinary experiences.”

She added: “Scottsdale also makes for the ultimate multi-centre trip with Phoenix, with Old Town Scottsdale located a mere 20-minute drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, making them ideal for a combined itinerary.”

Clients can fly directly from London Heathrow to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport with British Airways.
