Regent Holidays celebrates 50th anniversary in Iceland

Regent Holidays is marking 50 years of operation in Iceland.

A new trade incentive will see every travel agent booking made during January and February 2025 to any destination entered into a draw to win a holiday to North Iceland.

The prize is a three-night stay in Akureyri, a gateway to Iceland’s lesser-explored Diamond Circle. Sights include the Godafoss waterfall (known as the ‘Waterfall of the Gods’) and Lake Mývatn. Departures are between November 2025 and March 2026.

UK air access to Akureyri has increased this year, with easyJet launching a twice-weekly route from Manchester. The trip will include easyJet flights, accommodation for two in a 3- or 4-star hotel and an excursion such as a whale watching experience or tour of the Diamond Circle.

Andrea Godfrey, Head of Regent Holidays, said: “Iceland is very special to us, never more so than in this 50th year of operation there. We started with a limited number of individual packages and have grown our programme to feature over 40 packages and hundreds of hotels today, some of which we have featured since the very beginning, such as the prestigious Hotel Borg in Reykjavík.

“We wanted to kick off the new year by celebrating our 50th anniversary with our agent partners, offering this great prize to Akureyri which has become a particular favourite in recent years. It has spectacular scenery, a host of activities and a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights so is a brilliant alternative to the popular Golden Circle.”
