A homeworking travel agent with The Personal Travel Consultants has single-handedly secured £207,000 of cruise bookings.

Lynne Walton, who has 35+ years’ experience as a travel agent, returned to homeworking last October after a two-year break. She’s not a cruise specialist, however she landed 54 bookings with MSC in just five months (February – June 2022) by tempting customers to try cruising for the first time.

Lynne’s bumper bookings accounted for 87% of all sales of MSC Cruises product by The Personal Travel Consultants in Partnership with Blue Bay Travel in the five month period and represented 25% of Lynne’s business. None of the bookings she has made are discounted, with an average value of £3,995 each, and 75% of the bookings were from customers who have never cruised before.

Abbie Heaton, Sales Manager for The Personal Travel Consultants in Partnership with Blue Bay Travel, said: “We were so pleased to have Lynne join us at the end of last year – she’s exactly the calibre of homeworker we’re looking for at The Personal Travel Consultants and she’s got off to an amazing start.

“One of the benefits of partnering with us is that homeworkers have access to a pool of high-quality Blue Bay customer leads if they want them but can also earn higher commission (65%) on sales via self-generated customer leads.”
