Florida Gulf Coast destination Pensacola has “recommitted” to the UK market with another year of activity for the trade designed to educate and engage with agents.
A major focus of Visit Pensacola’s UK trade strategy is ensuring travel agents “have the tools and knowledge to confidently sell the destination”.
Through collaborations with partners Stuba and Hotelbeds Visit Pensacola is developing a range of comprehensive resources including dedicated training events, digital platforms and content in the form of newsletters and blogs, to bring Pensacola’s story to life.
The tourist board is also planning a dedicated travel agent roadshow for spring with the aim to further engage the trade by offering first-hand insights and networking opportunities with the UK and Florida-based teams.
With its location on Florida’s Gulf Coast and 40 miles of beach across two islands, a range of cultural districts, award-winning restaurants and a rich and extensive history and culture, Pensacola offers “a compelling addition to Florida itineraries”, says Darien Schaefer, President and CEO of Visit Pensacola.
“Engaging with the UK trade is vital for Pensacola’s growth in this market,” he added.
“We’ve already seen great success in our partnerships. Our proximity to New Orleans, which is just a three-hour drive away, makes it an ideal tie-in for Deep South experiences. This connection has been particularly well received by the trade, highlighting Pensacola’s appeal beyond a standalone Florida beach destination.”
