Pandaw reveals two new stops in Cambodia

River cruise specialist Pandaw has launched two new stops in Cambodia.

Visits to the villages Pak Russei and Peam Chi Korng will be offered on all Mekong expeditions from September 2024.

They were launched in the response to the demand for sustainable travel on the Mekong.

Park Russei hosts local artisans of silks and food such as noodles, which are sold in the Phnom Penh markets. The excursion replaces the usual tourist stops of Silk Island or Koh Oknha Tei.

Highlights include silk-making explanations, the opportunity to buy authentic locally made silk products and a private demonstration of the Khmer martial art of Bokator in the village pagoda.

Peam Chi Korng, meanwhile, is known for its pottery industry. It is a new addition along the Mekong north of Phnom Penh, replacing the frequently visited excursion in Angkor Ban.

Both visits are now available on four of Pandaw’s Mekong itineraries: the 7-night Classic Mekong, the 10-night Deeper & Further on the Mekong River; the 3- and 4-night Phnom Penh & Siem Reap; and the 21-night The Full Mekong, Four Country Combo Cruise.
