Operator adds Northern Lights Flight Experience

Omega Breaks has added a fourth ‘Northern Lights Flight Experience’ departure for winter 2023.

Agents can now book departures from Bristol on 19 November, priced from £249pp.

Each trip is accompanied by guest astronomer Pete Lawrence, who has regularly appeared on the BBC’s The Sky at Night.

Away from light pollution on the ground and any potential bad weather, these trips offer the maximum opportunities to view the stars, constellation and hopefully the Aurora Borealis.

The evening begins with exclusive pre-flight talks by the guest astronomy team, with the chance to learn about the Northern Lights, what can be expected and the evening’s aurora forecast.

Throughout the three-hour flight, the astronomy team will give expert commentary on all there is to see whilst flying, from the Milky Way and Orion’s Belt and the Northern Lights.

Dates currently on sale include: November 8 from Gatwick; November 9 from Birmingham; November 11 from Manchester and the newly added November 19 from Bristol. With new 2024 dates to be released soon.

Joanna Roberts, product director at Omega Breaks, comments: “In the last few days there has lots of press and social media coverage on the Northern Lights, as there have been rare sightings in various locations around the country.

“I believe that right now agents have a huge opportunity to use this as a hook to promote our unique Northern Lights flights. We’ve seen an uptick in enquiries for our breaks in the last couple of days, as customers who haven’t seen them now want to more than ever! I urge agents in the relevant airport catchments to seize the moment and get promoting across all their channels whilst it’s such a hot topic.”
