Nova Scotia reveals new updates

Nova Scotia has introduced a series of new updates, including new exhibits, hotels and restaurants.

The Moxy Halifax Downtown has opened its doors for the first time, with 160 boutique-style, vibrant rooms. Located in the heart of downtown Halifax, it was designed to reflect the city’s history. 

Upon check in, each guest will find their room key paired with a signature cocktail. Rooms include walk-in showers, open closets and smart technology. All guests can enjoy a games room, ‘chill library’ and lounge room.

Another new hotel comes in the form of Sandman Signature at Dartmouth Crossing. The 212-room property an indoor pool, rooms with kichenettes and a hot tub. There are a series 24-hour facilities, including a fitness centre, Denny’s restaurant and a business centre.

Meanwhile, a new exhibit has been launched at the Canadian Museum of Immigration, Pier 21. Travelling Exhibit – Eat Make Share focuses on the connections between food and immigration. The opening comes just before the 80th anniversary of WWII in 2025. Travellers can visit the site where 368,000 military personnel departed for service.

A new Welcome Center has taken centre stage at the Highland Village Museum. With two new exhibits, guests can immerse themselves in Scottish Gaelic culture. Key updates include year-round accessible washrooms, a gift shop and auditorium.

Guests can also discover the birthplace of Acadian culture at the Grand-Pre National Historic Site with Parks Canada. This profound memorials tells the story of the tragic upheaval and resilience of the Acadian people. 

Foodies, rejoice! Visitors who want to sample a taste of Nova Scotia’s seafood can do so at the Inverary Resort in Baddeck, with its new Lakeside Seafood Bar, live local entertainment and evenings of roaring lakeside bonfires, and at the Longfellow restaurant at Evangeline, a fully renovated motel in Grand Pré, close to the Annapolis Valley.
