United Airlines has reintroduced its nonstop daily seasonal service between Glasgow and its Newark/New York hub. It is the first scheduled service by a U.S. airline between Glasgow and the United States since October 2019.
The Glasgow route builds on United’s connectivity to the USA through daily flights from Edinburgh to Newark/New York, its service between Edinburgh and Washington D.C. and a seasonal service linking Scotland’s capital with Chicago O’Hare.
United will operate up to four non-stop services per day from Scotland to the U.S. during the summer of 2026.
“We are excited to return to Glasgow with the launch of our service to Newark/New York, further underlining the importance of Scotland within United’s global route network,” said Karolien De Hertogh, Director Sales UK and Ireland at United Airlines.
“With more seats and flights from Scotland to the United States than any other airline, our customers in Scotland can enjoy even greater travel choice and the possibility to connect seamlessly via our U.S. hubs to over 220 onward destinations across the Americas, while travellers from the U.S. can more easily fly to Glasgow and enjoy the city’s world-class museums, iconic architecture, historic pubs, parks and gardens or travel beyond the city and explore the greater Highlands region,” continued De Hertogh.
