Newmarket Holidays has introduced a new Japanese itinerary with spring and autumn departures following customer demand.
The 16-day Japan Unrivalled tour begins in Tokyo, where guests can enjoy a guided sightseeing tour with highlights including the Shibuya district and a traditional Japanese tea ceremony in the downtown area of Asakusa.
On day five, the tour moves on to Mishima calling in at the hill town of Hakone, home to thermal hot springs and the Hakone Shrine positioned on the shores of Lake Ashinoko. The tour then transfers to Matsumoto with visits along the route to Oshino, renowned for its natural springs, and Lake Kawaguchi, positioned at the foothills of Mount Fuji before continuing on to the historic city of Kanazawa, with stops in Takayama and Shirakawa-go.
Day ten includes a guided tour of Japan’s former imperial capital Kyoto, visiting the Golden, the Ryoanji Temple and the city’s entertainment and geisha district, Gion.
The final days of the tour take in the cities of Hiroshima and Osaka, with two bullet train rides included in the itinerary. In Hiroshima, guests can take a ferry ride to Miyajima Island and can visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and in Osaka, a guided tour includes stops in Dotonbori and the go-to shopping spot of Shinsaibashi.
Prices start from £4,995pp including 13 nights’ bed and breakfast accommodation, flights, travel in destination, excursions and selected additional meals. Departures from London Heathrow in October/ November 2024 and March/ April/ May/ July/ October and November 2025.
