Windows On The Wild has introduced new itineraries in Kenya. Its Wild Elegance Safari combines wildlife experiences with boutique luxury, while the Eco Bush Camps Safari offers a low-impact way to explore and a focus on conservation.
Both packages are in collaboration with Gamewatchers, which won the ATTA Earthkeepers Award and the ATTA Eco-Innovation Award in June.
The Wild Elegance Safari is a nine-night journey through three of Kenya’s most celebrated wildlife destinations, staying in a collection of intimate luxury camps chosen for their exceptional locations, comfort and commitment to conservation.
It begins at Elewana Tortilis Camp in Amboseli National Park, where tents afford spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Home to one of Africa’s largest elephant populations, Amboseli also offers opportunities to spot lions, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes and birdlife durig guided game drives and bush walks.
The itinerary then moves to River Camp in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where six luxury tents overlook the Ngobit River. Guests can learn more about one of Kenya’s most important conservation areas, including the option to visit the Endangered Species Boma, home to the world’s last two northern white rhinos, or take part in a lion-tracking experience.
The safari concludes at Hemingways Ol Seki Mara Camp in the private Mara Naboisho Conservancy. With nine luxury tents and one villa, the camp offers a peaceful base for exploring one of Kenya’s most wildlife-rich regions. Guests may encounter big cats, elephants, buffalo, hyenas and jackals.
The camp is regarded as a prime location for viewing the Great Migration in the neighbouring Masai Mara National Reserve between July and October. As a partner of the conservancy, the camp also plays an active role in protecting the landscape, allowing guests to experience Kenya’s wildlife while supporting its long-term conservation.
Priced from £6,679pp, the Wild Elegance Safari includes internal flights and transfers, three nights at each camp on a mixed-board basis, park fees and named game drives and excursions.
Spanning four regions, the Eco Bush Camps Safari combines guided bush walks and night drives for top-class opportunities to view big cats in the Mara conservancies. Travel between the locations is by light aircraft and the safari experience is in open safari vehicles, accompanied by a local guide and tracker who can track and spot the wildlife for up-close experiences.
The first stop, in the Selenkay Conservancy, includes the opportunity to see lions and some of the last remaining big tusker elephants, as well as rarer animals such as the gerenuk and lesser kudu.
The Ol Pejeta Conservancy brings opportunities to spot the Big Five and animals such as the vervet monkey, jackal, serval and hyena. There is also the additional option to visit the last two remaining northern white rhinos, mother and daughter duo Nanjin and Fatu.
Acacias and ancient baobab trees adorn the plains of Meru National Park. Over 400 bird species have been recorded in the park.
The itinerary ends at the Ol Kinyei Conservancy, offering the chance to spend time with one of the largest lion prides of the Mara ecosystem. Early morning game drives, guided walking activities and a night game drive are part of a year-round itinerary.
Travellers hoping to witness the Great Migration in the Masai Mara should travel between July 1 and September 30, when sightings may be possible. The one-day park entrance fee to enter the Mara is included in the cost when travelling at this time.
The Eco Bush Camps Safari is a 12-night itinerary priced from £6,439pp, including internal flights and transfers, three nights at each camp on a mixed-board basis, park fees and named game drives and excursions.
