A brand new three-day summer package is now available for the Métis Crossing Cultural Experience.
Located in Alberta, the lodge’s new package includes two-nights accommodation in the lodge, all meals, wildlife viewing and an array of indigenous cultural experiences.
The Through the Eye of the Hunter session allows guests to experience archery while discovering native animal and plant species; the Wildlife Tour introduces elk, bison and Percheron horses; while the Campfire Experience takes place after dark beside the peaceful North Saskatchewan River. There is also an opportunity to hear from a Métis interpreter about the history, traditions and life of the Métis people.
Special Métis-inspired dining experiences feature throughout, using locally-sourced produce to create authentic indigenous dishes.
The Sky Watching Domes at Métis Crossing have also recently opened, allowing guests to stargaze from their beds. With nearly zero light pollution in the area, the domes offer unobstructed views of the heavens, exploring how the Métis people used the stars and sky to navigate.
The special suites include a transparent ceiling, king bed, running water, bathroom, heated floors, air conditioning, kitchenette, and electricity. The luxury domes are available in both family and single suites, sleeping six and two respectively.
