Virtual reality training from the Seychelles

The Seychelles Tourism Board plans to expand its training tool kit to include virtual reality fam trips.

The videos will be available on the online training programme later this year and will cover a range of topics from how to travel around the islands to airport transfers and accommodation.

Speaking at a dedicated Seychelles event, Christine Vel, Director UK & Ireland, Seychelles Tourism Board said: “The trade account for 90% of total sales to the Seychelles so it is important they are confident in selling the destination.

“To continue to provide the most up-to-date and engaging training we are introducing dedicated virtual reality videos which will offer information in a visually appealing way, as if you were there on a fam yourself.”

Since the launch of the direct British Airways flight earlier this year, the Seychelles has experienced a 16% year-on-year increase from UK visitors alone.

The island continues to invest in tourism with plans to open a five-star Club Med resort in 2020 on the island of Mahe.

There are also ongoing conservation efforts to ensure that almost a third of its national waters will be protected by next year.
