G Adventures introduces ‘Virtual Travel Experiences’

by Jessica Pook

G Adventures has today (April 21) launched the first in a series of ‘live’ small group tours as part of its new Virtual Travel Experiences.

The first tour will transport 16 ‘travellers’ to Italy, introducing them to five different locations in just under an hour. Agents can receive food/drink pairing recommendations in advance, meet the other participants in a live Zoom room, and interact with a G Adventures' CEO (Chief Experience Officer)  in real time.

Future live virtual small group tours include Guatemala, Argentina and Vietnam. Observers will also have the opportunity to follow along on the tour without joining the group. Agents can sign up for the tours here.

The operator is also hosting virtual weekly walking tours with cities including Buenos Aires, Antigua in Guatemala, Cape Town and Hanoi. Local CEOs will 'walk' viewers around their city, while sharing insider secrets, history and tips.

“Wanderlust, curiosity and connection are in our DNA here at G Adventures,” says Lauren Michell, VP Marketing and Customer Experience. “We hope that our new Virtual Travel Experiences will continue to fuel travellers’ curiosity and desire to see the world when the time is right.”
