The Personal Travel Consultants in Partnership with Blue Bay Travel (PTCs) is seeing a trend for luxury short-haul with the average booking values for Turkey exceeding £6,000.
According to the homeworking business “demand for luxury short-haul has grown, as customers become more aware of the range of high-end, stunning properties available a bit closer to home.”
The average booking values for Turkey have exceeded £6,000, and the Canary Islands has seen an average booking cost of £4,000, which the company says is “traditionally more akin to long-haul bookings.”
Whilst Turkey remains a perennial favourite, long-haul destinations including the Maldives and Mexico are also proving popular, as customers continue to seek out premium, “bucket-list” destinations that promise unique and memorable experiences.
Summer sales for homeworkers are showing a strong lates market with late bookings accounting for 50% of sales made in the last three months compared to 44% for the same period last year.
PTC has enjoyed a bumper start to 2024, reporting a 42% year-on-year increase in sales for the period January – June and has seen a marked rise in new starters with 15 agents joining the homeworking business this year – some from other homeworking companies and others from the high street – which the company says “reflects the growing demand for the work-life balance and elevated income that being a self-employed travel agent affords.”
PTCs reports that many of its homeworkers are working harder on their social media marketing to grow their own customer databases resulting in a 67% year-on-year jump in sales (Jan – June) through self-generated leads.
Those bookings from self-generated customer leads, which The PTCs receive 65% commission on, are becoming more lucrative too with the average booking value of £4,399, this year, compared with £3,000 in 2023.
Commenting, Abbie Heaton, Group Manager for The Personal Travel Consultants in Partnership with Blue Bay Travel, says: “The hard work of our PTCs has been transformative and is instrumental in achieving these remarkable results.
“It’s an exciting time for the business and is really rewarding to see our consultants reaping the financial rewards of the robust, personal relationships they have built with their clients.
“It’s wonderful to be growing our volume of PTCs too but my top priority remains to nurture our team of high-calibre agents who are committed for the long term. The quality of our consultants contributes significantly to our growth as a business, resulting in high individual performance and increased profit margins.”
