Fred. Holidays is offering sailings on the Brahmaputra in India on a brand new 10-night Pandaw cruise between Guwahati and the northern city of Dibrugarh. This voyage will venture into the untouched upper reaches of Assam.
Launching in October 2024, ‘The Full Brahmaputra’ cruise will visit the lesser-known Dibru Saikhowa National Park which is rich in mammal life including tigers, leopards, elephants and the famous wild horses that are descended from animals that escaped army camps during World War II.
It will explore the world’s largest river island of Majuli; search for the elusive greater one-horned Indian rhinoceros and Indian tiger in Kaziranga National Park; take a boat safari on the Eastern range of Kaziranga to observe wildlife such as eagles, vultures, water buffalo and monitor lizards; and visit a tea estate and factory that produces the famous Assam tea.
The cruise takes place on the RV Kalaw Pandaw, accommodating just 36 guests in 18 staterooms with panoramic French windows and a bistro-style dining room with outside seating.
Fred. Holidays has departures on October 12 and 23 2024; November 3 and 14 2024; December 29 2024; January 9 and 28 2025; and February 8 2025 with prices from £6,295pp. Price includes return flights from London (regional flights available on request); the 10-night cruise with all meals, excursions and gratuities; overseas transfers; and one-night pre- and post-cruise in a five-star hotel in Delhi with breakfast.
