Fort Edmonton Park is celebrating its 50th year in operation with festivities that ‘Bring History to Life.’
The facility in the North Saskatchewan River Valley prides itself on being a living history museum that offers guests an insight into Alberta’s rich history through its immersive cultural heritage programmes.
In 2021 the park opened its Indigenous Peoples Experience, which celebrates the city’s diverse First Nations and Metis peoples’ history, culture and traditions.
Visitors can also engage in paranormal tours, cultural workshops and the historic Capitol Theatre and DARK, which includes three Halloween-inspired experiences.
The ‘Bringing History to Life’ theme pays homage to the “community spirit that has been at the heart of the park’s journey” and encourages visitors to share their favourite memories of Fort Edmonton Park on social media using the hashtag #FORTED50.
