Finnair to boost summer 2025 capacity

Finnair will increase its capacity to the U.S. and Asia for summer 2025.

The airline will boost its Helsinki-Osaka route from five-weekly flights to a daily service. A new route to Nagoya, which was relaunched this summer, will also see services doubling from twice per week to four times weekly.

Both increases come as Finnair prepares to operate daily flights to both Tokyo-Haneda and Tokyo-Narita airports next summer.

An extra flight has also been added to the Helsinki-Shanghai service, making it four times weekly.

Flights to Texas, meanwhile, are set to increase from six times per week up to 11 per week. There will be double daily services on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Routes to Los Angeles will see flights increase from three times weekly to five times weekly.

There will be daily flights to Chicago, which is an increase from five times per week. The Seattle service will receive two extra weekly flights during peak periods, totalling to five weekly flights.

Anssi Partanen, Market Director – Europe at Finnair, said: “Our customers have always valued our seamless connections to Asia, so to be expanding our presence in both China and Japan – including on our newest route to Nagoya – shows the continued trust in Finnair as a leading long-haul carrier.

“But we are equally excited to be expanding across the Atlantic, boasting our largest ever schedule between Helsinki and the U.S., which shows our commitment to connecting customers between Europe, Asia and the U.S.”
