Up to 179 flights per week will now run between Helsinki and Finnish Lapland and Northern Finland

Finnair’s revised winter schedule will see the airline operate up to 179 weekly flights between its home hub Helsinki and airports in Finnish Lapland and Northern Finland.

Up to 72 flights will run weekly between Helsinki and Rovaniemi – 10 more than in winter 2024 – with up to 16 flights a day on a Saturday alone.

Those looking to hit the slopes can take advatange of flights to Kittilä – gateway to Levi and Ylläs, two of Finland’s leading ski resorts. This winter, Finnair will offer up to 41 weekly flights between Helsinki and Kittilä – seven more than last season – giving customers the choice of up to eight daily flights at the weekend.

Ivalo, the EU’s most northerly airport, will see up to 33 flights a week from Helsinki – an increase of three on last winter.

Kuusamo, located in Northern Finland, will also receive two extra weekly flights this winter, opening the destination up to more British and Irish travellers.

All services have been specifically timed to allow for easy connections from London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin, with transfers between flights from as little as 40 minutes in Helsinki.

One-way flights from the UK to Lapland start at £127 in Economy including taxes and charges.
