Disneyland Paris is to introduce Disney Princess Cavalcade at Disney Adventure World, the resort’s revamped second park, offering a new year-round entertainment featuring characters such as Rapunzel, Moana, Raya and Tiana.

The interactive experience takes place several times a day along the shores of Adventure Bay, with the Disney Princess characters travelling through the park on themed floats. The cavalcade begins in front of the future land dedicated to Walt Disney Animation Studios’ The Lion King before travelling towards The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge and returning to its starting point.

During the midway sequence, the Disney Princess characters leave their floats to perform adventure-inspired choreography with selected guests.

Moana’s routine draws inspiration from traditional Pacific Island dances, while Raya’s movements incorporate influences from various martial art forms. The experience also features appearances from the characters’ companions, including Heihei, Pua, Tuk Tuk, Ray and Pascal.

More than 18 months of development and 287 hours of rehearsals went into creating the new production. The floats, costumes and choreography were developed by Disneyland Paris’ creative teams, inspired by the cultures and landscapes that influenced each of the animated films.

The floats also include settings from the worlds of the Disney Princess characters, including Motunui from Moana, the Heart Palace from Raya, the streets of New Orleans from Tiana and The Snuggly Duckling tavern from Rapunzel. The designs were created by a specialist street art company based in Nice.

The resort said the production involved detailed craftsmanship, including 120 metres of handmade fringe for Moana’s kites, 900 pieces of fabric individually cut and sewn for Raya’s dragons, 24 hand-sculpted and painted feathers for Tiana’s companions and 13 sculpted ducks featured on Rapunzel’s float.

Music also plays a central role in the new experience, with two original songs created specifically for Disney Princess Cavalcade. Recorded between Nashville and Paris with approximately 50 musicians, the soundtrack combines new lyrics with musical influences from the Disney Princess films.

With the launch of Disney Princess Cavalcade, Disneyland Paris’ Disney Marching Band, led by Minnie Mouse, concludes its run at the resort. Minnie will debut a new Victorian-inspired costume and will continue to appear at the West Pavilion for selected character meet-and-greet experiences.
