DC starts 2026 with new UK boss

Destination Canada will kick off the year by welcoming a new Managing Director

Kate Bifield-Haraldsson will be joining Destination Canada as the Managing Director for the UK market, starting on January 5, 2026.

Kate brings extensive experience across the travel and tourism sectors, having worked with a broad range of international destinations and tourism boards that have included Visit Dubai, Visit Maldives, Visit Jordan, Visit Kenya and Tourism Western Australia.

She’s known for her commercial and analytical strengths and has a strong track record of building innovative strategies, long-term partnerships and delivering successful results.

Before moving into tourism, Kate held marketing and content roles at NBC Universal where she developed expertise in partnership marketing and brand development, blending creative vision with strategic insight.

She also has a strong connection to Canada, having been raised in Ottawa, where her family still live.
