Guests of all ages will be welcomed on board P&O Cruises ships Arcadia and Aurora from December 2026.

Selected cruises on the two ships will be open to families on specific dates, during peak holiday periods and in time for Christmas next year. 

The change provides an even wider range of cruise options for multi-generational groups and families, with more holidays available from the home port of Southampton. This will add 23% more cruises for families to choose from in school summer holidays in 2027.

Bookings open on October 7, 2025 with cruises available on Aurora from December 11, 2026 and on Arcadia from December 21, 2026.

A total of 12 sailings on Aurora and eight on Arcadia will be available to families through to September 2027. More holidays for winter 2027-2028 go on sale on October 14, 2025.    

Menus for children will be available together with baby changing and bottle warming facilities and both ships will offer entertainment and activities for all ages to enjoy.

There will be a wide range of spaces available for everyone on board, from quiet to more lively spaces and special events.

Grand adventure to Galapagos for 2026

Captain’s Choice has revealed its newest voyage for 2026 with a grand adventure to the Galápagos islands, Easter Island and Antarctica. On land guests will encounter endemic wildlife and landscapes before boarding Silversea’s small ships.

Two other expedition cruise itineraries have been comfirmed for 2026, which are now open for booking. April will see Captain’s Choice guests board Silver Wind to trace the Atlantic coast of West Africa, from Namibia to Ghana. In November, the Paspaley Pearl will venture on a remote expedition cruise to Papua New Guinea, West Papua and the archipelago of Raja Ampat, Indonesia.

The ‘Epic Discovery of the Galápagos, Easter Island and Antarctica’ itinerary brings together 26 guests. The journey begins in Quito, Ecuador, where guests will soak up the history and culture of before travelling to the remote islands of the Galápagos and embarking Silversea’s Silver Origin. Over seven nights guests will get up-close with creatures from Nazca boobies to bright red Sally Lightfoot crabs.

Next, guests venture to Easter Island to spend two full days seeing the uncanny series of famous statues across the island, named moai by the indigenous Rapa Nui, while enjoying the Explora Rapa Nui resort.

After a couple of days exploring Chile’s historic cities of Santiago and Valparaíso, guests fly South to explore Antarctica, bypassing Drake’s Passage. Six nights aboard the expedition ship Silver Endeavour follow, with smaller Zodiac cruises each day to encounter the landscapes and Antarctic wildlife, with on-shore hikes on offer.

The ‘Epic Discovery of the Galápagos, Easter Island and Antarctica’ journey will take place from the October 15 to November 8, 2026. With all costs included for the 25-day adventure, the journey is priced from £30,700pp.

Atlas voyage will eclipse other sailings

Atlas Ocean Voyages has unveiled a 2027 Solar Eclipse Expedition. The voyage through the Mediterranean combines Spain and Portugal with the chance to see a total solar eclipse, viewed from at sea.

Departing July 27, 2027 from Barcelona, Spain, this eight-night expedition will sail to Ibiza, Cartagena, Motril, and Puerto Banús before stationing guests at sea on August 2, 2027 for the celestial event.

Under the guidance of resident astronomer Jonathan H. Ward, author, astrophotographer, and Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, guests will witness a total eclipse while enjoying expert commentary, stargazing sessions, and enrichment programmes explaining cosmic phenomena.

Guests will enjoy an overnight in Ibiza featuring a curated wine tasting in Santa Gertrudis, explore Cartagena’s historic World War II submarine tunnels, and journey inland from Puerto Banús to the ancient city of Ronda with a late night in port.

The voyage concludes in Lisbon, Portugal, following a call in Portimão. Throughout the expedition, Ward will deliver lectures on space history, lead interactive workshops, and host stargazing sessions.

New onboard reader leaves no paper trail

Seven Seas Navigator

Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises have introduced PressReader across their fleets, giving guests complimentary access to thousands of global newspapers, magazines and eBooks directly on their personal devices.

The rollout began October 4, 2025, on Oceania Allura, followed by Seven Seas Navigator on October 5. The remaining 14 ships will launch the service in November. The move will gradually replace printed newspapers onboard, aligning with both brands’ Sail snd Sustain environmental initiatives.

Guests can connect via Starlink internet to browse titles such as The New York Times and The Economist, regional publications, and multilingual eBooks, which can also be downloaded for offline reading.
