Cruise update: CLIA celebrates first-ever ‘cruise champions’

Plus Regent’s largest-ever trade engagement, win a day at the races with Celestyal, and more..

CLIA is celebrating its first cohort of agents who completed two cruise training programmes.

Sixty-five agents took part in both six-month initiatives, which were announced last year.

The first programme focussed on river cruising and saw 33 agents successfully finish.

Expedition sailing was the focus of the second programme, which delivered 32 graduates.

A special certification at a ceremony in Birmingham marked the milestone. The training was aimed at agents who are new or have limited experience of the sectors.

The programme included a mix of classroom learning, monthly webinars, assessments and digital catch-ups. Content covered included destination, product training and sales techniques.

The programmes were created alongside CLIA river cruise and expedition operators.

Applications for the next cohort will open later this summer.
