Co-op Travel Consortium is taking agents to Sicily

The Co-op Travel Consortium has invited its 130+ travel agency members to Sicily this October, for the consortium’s first in-person conference since the pandemic.

The Co-op Travel Consortium, part of The Midcounties Co-operative, will welcome agents for the three-day event at the Grand Palladium Sicilia Resort & Spa, from October 4-7 2022.

The theme for the conference is “Celebrating 10 Years”, after the consortium marked its 10th birthday in May 2022, with the aim of inspiring agents to look ahead to a bright future after making it through tough times in the last two years.

Headline sponsors for the conference are Jet2Holidays, Co-op Holidays and the Palladium Hotel Group and planned workshops include “Tips, tools and techniques to grow your travel agency” and “Generation Travel: managing, motivating, and engaging with multiple generations of customers and employees.”

The conference will feature a panel, with an A-list line-up, who will debate what the future holds for Travel and provide valuable insights for agents.  Delegates will also have plenty of time to meet suppliers, network, and hear business updates from Alison Holmes, Head of Retailing for The Midcounties Co-operative’s travel business, and Sara Dunham Chief Officer for Travel and Leisure for The Midcounties Co-operative.

Alison Holmes, Head of Retailing for The Midcounties Co-operative’s travel business, said, “We’re really looking forward to bringing so many of our members together for what promises to be a highly productive three days in beautiful surroundings.  Our last in-person conference was Cyprus in 2018 and, whilst we’ve held virtual conferences during the pandemic, and smaller in-person gatherings when Covid restrictions were eased, nothing beats having everyone together, especially as this year also marks the 10th birthday of The Co-op Travel Consortium.

“Our agent members are in for a fun and informative few days with keynote speakers, top suppliers providing updates and insights, valuable workshops and panel debates, and a boat excursion along the coast of Cefalu to finish.”
