CLIA reveals plans for 2025

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has revealed a series of trade activities and initiatives for 2025, including events and training opportunities.

Details were announced at CLIA’s annual forum today (December 18) at De Vere Beaumont Estate in Windsor.

Next year will see the first ever CLIA Expedition Showcase, from July 16-20, in Longyearbyen in Svalbard. The event will include ship visits on AE Expeditions, Ponant, Quark Expeditions and Swan Hellenic. There will also be business sessions, shore excursions and two hosted lunches and dinners.

CLIA and member cruise lines will attend a new Art of Selling Cruise event in Leeds on July 3. Agents will receive information and advice, with a spotlight on newcomers.

There will also be a new one-day in-person forum for agents, with a focus on a specific sector of the cruise industry. The UK-wide lineup comprises: Expedition in London on March 20; Luxury in Manchester on June 18; Yacht and Small Ship Sailing in Birmingham on September 4; and River Cruise in Glasgow on October 23. The forums will be supplemented by a series of corresponding webinars.

CLIA’s Expedition Champion and River Champion hybrid learning programmes will also be returning. A total of 70 frontline agents can attend the six-month modules.

Plus, there are a few places left for the trade association’s annual conference in Southampton from May 22.

Managing Director for UK & Ireland Andy Harmer said: “Today’s Forum has been the ideal way to round off another successful year and I’d like to thank every agent and industry colleague who has made it all possible.

“We’re determined for the momentum to keep apace in 2025 and have ensured there are a wealth of new opportunities available for the trade to develop their expertise across the next 12 months. For everyone looking to bolster their sales, including during the upcoming Wave period, we’d urge them to think CLIA in the new year.”
