The Central America Tourism Agency (CATA) will host its first Centroamérica Travel Market since 2019 in El Salvador.
The fair is scheduled for April 16 – 18, 2024, with a goal of promoting tourism development in the countries of Belize, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama.
The decision behind the host country is said to be “a testament to the newfound levels of security and the positive outcomes achieved in the tourism sector.”
A main focus of the event will be promoting community projects and local experiences across Central America.
The tourism body has also set its sights on developing cruise itineraries from California and Florida, stopping at ports across Central America.
Speaking at World Travel Market this week, Karina Alexandra Canto at CATA, said: “Panama is building a home port for cruising which makes it the perfect route from either California or Florida.”
