British Airways launches Italian routes

British Airways has introduced three new Italian flights for May 2025.

They are Rimini on the Adriatic Coast from London Heathrow; Salerno on the Amalfi Coast from London Gatwick and Oblia in Sardinia from London City.

The new routes will expand British Airways’ Italian destinations to 19.

Flights to Rimini will operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from May 15-September 27 2025.

BA Euroflyer will serve the Campania Region of Salerno on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from May 22-October 25 2025.

Travellers can also head to Oblia from London City with BA Cityflyer. There will be a weekly service from May 25 2025, increasing to Wednesdays and Sundays from July 16 2025.

Neil Chernoff, Chief Planning and Strategy Officer for British Airways, said: “Italy continues to prove hugely popular with our customers, which is why it’s our biggest European destination and second globally behind the US.

“Last month, we saw a 10% increase in searches for summer flights to Italy compared to 2023, so we’re pleased to be offering an even bigger choice of destinations next year. Rimini, Salerno and Olbia are all coastal destinations, so we expect them to be particularly popular with our leisure customers seeking sun, sea, and of course Italy’s fantastic food.”
