British Airways adds route to Lapland

British Airways is expanding its winter schedule with new flights to Lapland.

The twice-weekly service from London Gatwick to Ivalo Airport will launch on December 3 2024.

Return flights, which are available now from £345, are set to run until February 14 2025. Flights will be operated by BA Euroflyer.

Skiing or snowboarding equipment is permitted as part of checked baggage. Bags must be within 190 x 75 x 65cm.

Another route to join the winter schedule from London Heathrow in December is Tromsø in Norway.

Tom Stoddart, CEO of BA Euroflyer, said: “Our BA Euroflyer network continues to grow and we are excited for a new addition to our winter schedule, alongside the likes of Innsbruck and Geneva.

“Lapland is synonymous with winter and Ivalo is blanketed in snow for a large part of the year, so customers can expect a white Christmas, with some red and blue sprinkled in from British Airways for good measure.”
