British Airways will begin operating daily flights from London-Heathrow to Pittsburgh International Airport from March 31.

The non-stop service will run until October, with return fares starting from £514pp.

Leaving London at 16.40, the service will arrive in the Pennsylvania city at 20.00.

Nicknamed the ‘City of Multitudes’, Pittsburgh has a vibrant arts scene, award-winning dining, some of the USA’s best-rated sports stadiums and world-class arts venues.

Another popular city facility is its 13-mile riverfront trail system.

Other attractions include The Andy Warhol Museum – the largest museum dedicated to a single artist in North America – and 30-plus museums including the Heinz History Center, Moonshot Museum and Carnegie Museum of Natural History

Sports fans can catch an NFL Steelers game at the Acrisure Stadium or a baseball match at PCP Park before sampling world cuisine such as Polish pierogi, Italian pepperoni rolls and craft beer.

A Burgh Bits and Bites Tour in The Strip District offers insight into the best places for foodies.

This year, Pittsburgh will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Picklesburgh, a four-day festival in July that pays homage to the green pickle with tastings, games, live music and family-friendly activities.

Jerad Bachar, CEO at VisitPITTSBURGH, said: “Our city has so much to offer; not only do we have exciting new developments and attractions on the horizon, but our existing ‘Only in Pittsburgh’ offerings, such as The Andy Warhol Museum, Wigle Whiskey and Primanti Sandwich, firmly cement the city as a must-visit destination for culture seekers, foodies, and sports enthusiasts.”
