Additional capacity has been added for 2026 sailings on the iconic African river

Premium river cruise line AmaWaterways has added four additional sailings on the exclusive Zamezi Queen to its 2026 programme.

Additional capacity has been added for February, October and November 2026 for cruises on Africa’s iconic Chobe River.

Each of the four-night safari cruises are combined with a choice of land arrangements to create itineraries ranging from nine to 16 nights, incorporating sights such as Cape Town’s Table Mountain (pictured) and Victoria Falls.

Optional land extensions include a visit the mountain gorillas in Rwanda.

“Cruises on the intimate Zambezi Queen offer a phenomenal opportunity to see wildlife and be immersed in Africa,” says Jamie Loizou, AmaWaterways’ Managing Director.

“With only 28 guests on each departure, this exclusive product is in high demand. Cruising down the Chobe River provides some of the most prolific wildlife viewings in Africa and allows our guests to combine a river cruise and safari into one adventure.”

The Zambezi Queen has been specially designed to offer suites with floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies offering unobstructed views of the river and landscape.

Prices start from £10,946pp for the nine-night Discover Africa itinerary which combines three nights in Cape Town with the four-night cruise (in a Balcony Suite) and two nights at Victoria Falls. The price is valid for the November 20, 2026 departure and includes flights from London or Manchester.

Family-owned AmaWaterways’ cruises on the Chobe River include all onboard dining, complimentary wine, beer and local spirits, a Chobe National Park safari, exclusive picnic in the national park, private boat safaris along the riverbank and a visit to an African Village. Inclusions for the land arrangements vary according to the itinerary.

Other AmaWaterways long-haul rive cruises include Southeast Asia’s Mekong River, Egypt’s Nile River and Colombia’s Magdalena River.
