AlUla entices visitors with nature and luxury

The new tour will feature Sharaan Nature Reserve, which is named as one of the ‘World’s Greatest Places’

AlUla, an ancient Arabian oasis city in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, has a new tour and UNESCO site – located hotel for agents to recommend.

Although not well – known to many agents, the destination is a good recommendation for clients looking for a short break of four nights and five days or as combined with the Red Sea, Dubai or Doha.

A new 4×4 day trip, Sharaan Nature Tour AlUla, is available until May 31, 2025, and sees guests take in many of the region’s best sights. Guests will stop at Arch Rock, one of AlUla’s most recognisable rock formations featuring semi-precious desert diamonds, and Madakheel and Mahlab, to go off-road and explore sandstone mountains.

Also featuring is a stop at the Sharaan Nature Reserve, named as one of the ‘World’s Greatest Places’ in 2024 by TIME Magazine. The reserve protects endangered animals such as Arabian wolves, gazelles and large-eared red foxes. It is hoped that the critically endangered Arabian Leopard will be reintroduced to Sharaan Nature Reserve in the future.

Chedi Hegra will be the first hotel located at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hegra. The luxury 35-room property will open fully in 2025 after a soft launch in late 2024 and will offer five guest rooms and three restaurants. The hotel will occupy several existing structures, including an old railway station, Hegra Fort, and other surrounding buildings.

Claire Golding, UK Director for the Royal Commission for AlUla, said: “We are delighted to see AlUla being recognised as an exciting and comparatively new destination for the curious traveller looking for a luxurious boutique destination. It can offer ancient history, authentic heritage, stunning landscapes and a place to truly relax and revitalise.

“AlUla is easily accessed from the UK with short connections via Qatar Airways, Emirates, flydubai, or over Riyadh and Jeddah with Saudia.”
