Small group escorted tour operator Jules Verne has introduced two new itineraries to Algeria, marking the North African nation’s debut in the company’s worldwide programme.

The eight-night Highlights of Algeria tour is priced from £1,895pp (without flights) and departs on May 30, September 26, October 10 and 24, and November 7, 2026.

The itinerary combines Kabylie mountain villages such as Ighil Ali and Ath Abbas with Roman heritage sites in Tipaza and Cherchell, as well as time in Algiers and Setif. The price includes accommodation, daily breakfast, two lunches and two dinners, plus guided touring.

For travellers seeking a more in-depth experience, the 12-night Grand Tour of Algeria: Ancient Cities to the Sahara Desert is available from £2,895pp (without flights), with departures on May 16, September 19 and October 3, 17 and 31, 2026.

Highlights include Algiers’ UNESCO-listed Casbah, the Saharan oasis of Timimoun, a 4×4 safari in the Petit Tassili, the bridges of Constantine, and Roman sites at Tipaza, Timgad and Djemila. The tour includes accommodation, daily breakfast, six lunches and six dinners, and the services of guides and local representatives.

Debbie O’Neill, Managing Director at Jules Verne, said the company was delighted to be introducing customers to a destination that remains largely under the radar for UK travellers.

“We are thrilled to announce that Jules Verne customers can now book an adventure to the enchanting country of Algeria,” she said.

“Still a relatively undiscovered destination, Algeria’s rich culture, fascinating history and breathtaking landscapes make it a standout choice for customers seeking a culturally immersive, unique and memorable travel experience away from the crowds.

“From visiting the desert oasis of Timimoun and experiencing Berber life in Kabylie’s mountain villages to exploring the Ottoman palaces of Algiers and witnessing the breathtaking bridges of Constantine, the new and carefully curated itineraries showcase the very best of Africa’s largest country’s treasures.

“As with every Jules Verne tour, customers can trust that the experience will be enhanced by our expert local guides and small group sizes.”
