Air Transat’s new non-stop service between London Gatwick and Ottawa starts flying on May 15.
The flights will operate three times a week, on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
The addition of the new Ottawa service will take the total number of direct flights operated by Air Transat from the UK to Canada up to 34 per week in the peak season, including non-stop Toronto and Montréal services.
Travellers can choose from direct flights from London Gatwick to Ottawa, Toronto or Montréal, and from Manchester or Glasgow to Toronto, with one-stop connections to popular destinations including Vancouver and Calgary.
Flights are operated by Air Transat’s fleet of Airbus aircraft, including the A321LR – some of the most energy-efficient aircraft in their category.
The airline is also running a ‘See it for Real’ spring sale which kicked off on April 7. UK travellers can enjoy fares starting from £369pp, for travel on select dates between April 7 and December 16, 2026, when booked by April 27, 2026.
Also included in the sale are connections via Toronto, Montréal or Ottawa to Vancouver, Calgary, and Halifax through Air Transat’s partnership with Porter – a Skytrax certified 4-star airline serving the North American market since 2006.
Ottawa, Canada’s capital and fourth largest city, has iconic attractions such as seven of nine national museums (including the Canadian Museum of History), refined dining options, tours of Explore Parliament Hill, cruises on the UNESCO World Heritage Site Rideau Canal (which stretches 200km from Ottawa to Kingston), and over 800km of scenic pathways woven through the city.
In spring, Ottawa bursts into colour as over a million tulips bloom across the capital – a lasting gift from the Netherlands–celebrated with the Canadian Tulip Festival (May 8-18, 2026).
