Agents focus on Australasia and South Pacific

A Selling Travel Connect: Australasia and South Pacific event was held on 31 March, attracting 54 travel agents to the Hyatt Regency London Stratford Hotel. 

Attendees had opportunities to network over food and drinks and then had face-to-face meetings with suppliers. Key points were summarised at the end of each evening. Then after question and answer sessions, agents had opportunities to win prizes in the draws which concluded each event.

Northern Territory

Australia’s Northern Territory is easily accessible from the UK. Qantas has started flying into Darwin from London via Singapore, four times a week. Singapore Airlines now flies daily to Darwin from London.

Getting about in Northern Territory has been made easier by Airnorth flights that are code-shared with Qantas. There are new flights between Perth and Alice Springs as well as Alice Springs and Cairns.

Additionally, in 2024 Virgin Australia introduced new flight routes between Brisbane and Ayers Rock Airport as well as from Melbourne and Ayers Rock Airport

Royal Brunei Airlines

Air New Zealand

Domestically, Air New Zealand connects travellers to 20 different regions around New Zealand. Internationally, the airline operates direct flights to major cities across Australia, Asia, the Pacific Islands and the U.S.  Through strong relationships with alliance partners, it is able to connect passengers further afield to hundreds of other destinations.

Cook Islands

The Cook Islands now have two flights per day from Auckland with Air New Zealand and JetStar, up to five flights per week from Sydney, Australia with JetStar and four flights per week from Los Angeles (and Europe) with Air Tahiti Nui via Papeete. 

Additionally, there is a weekly flight to/from Honolulu with Hawaiian Airlines, with connections to the extensive network offered by both Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines.

Exsus Travel

Exsus Travel has recently seen exponential growth in cruise, across luxury ocean, expedition and river. In response, Exsus has launched its exclusive ‘Elite Agents’ fam trip, a luxury Galapagos cruise in October 2025.

The operator will also be running its Annual Agent Awards Event, which will be held at the Shangri-La at The Shard in London this June. 

Last year Exsus launched brand new brochures for Europe beach and cruise to complement the existing worldwide beach and worldwide tailor-made brochures.

Tourism Fiji

British travellers can now pair Fiji with Tropical North Queensland and Dallas thanks to new routes with Fiiji Airways, with Cairns to Nadi commencing April 10, 2025. 

New Stays for 2025 include luxury island glamping experience, Serenity Sands, small luxury private island Dolphin Island Fiji and enhancements to existing properties such as new Treehouse Bures at Matangi Island and Nanuku Resort Fiji’s $12M luxury redesign. Further hotel and resort openings and renovations are underway for 2026/27 including Beachcomber Island Resort, The Crowne Plaza Nadi, Sofitel Vatu Talei Denarau, Radisson Blu Mirage Resort and more.

Fiji has a host of new adventure experiences, including the destination’s first e-Bike Tour iBike Fiji and a PADI Mermaid Instructor Trainer course at Matamanoa Island.

Tourism Western Australia

Western Australia offers wilderness, wildlife and adventure.

A direct daily flight runs from London to Western Australia, or travellers can connect from Singapore in five hours. New routes, including Margaret River to Sydney and Singapore to Broome open up the destination further.  

Visitors can swim with whale sharks, humpback whales and manta rays at Ningaloo Reef, meet quokkas and explore 63 pristine beaches on Rottnest Island, or taste fine wines in the Margaret River region, just over two hours south of Perth. Perth is home to Indian Ocean sunsets, 19 city beaches, large scenic parks and nearby wine country.
